What is required for my company to qualify for the master list of prequalified contractors/subcontractors?
To be considered for UA’s master list of prequalified contractors/subcontractors your company must have recently completed several projects in good standing at The University. If you feel your company has done so, contact the Executive Director of Construction Administration and submit a written request to be added.
What is required to get a waiver from prequalification?
All contractors and subcontractors must request a waiver prior to the deadline listed in the Advertisement for Bid for the project. Any contractor not already on UA’s master list that has been previously prequalified for University of Alabama projects of similar size and scope within the last six (6) months may submit a letter to the UA Project Manager requesting a waiver of the prequalification requirement for the project.
How do I find out who the UA Project Manager is for a particular project?
The UA Project Manager for each project is listed in the Advertisement for Bid. To view all current advertisements go to www.UAbidinfo.ua.edu. Click on the project link to access additional project specific information.
Can you tell me who was awarded the construction contract on a project that recently bid?
Look for the project on the list of certified bid tabulations to see the low bidder. To determine if or when a project has been awarded or if your project is not on the list, contact the UA Project Manager assigned to the project.
I am a general contractor/subcontractor and I can’t access my project files on SharePoint. Who do I contact?
Only an architect, general contractor, and/or subcontractor may have access to a project site on SharePoint. Access is granted on a “per project” basis; therefore, access must be requested and granted for each individual project. To request access or to report a problem, please contact the UA Project Manager assigned to the specific project.
How do I know if the General Conditions on SharePoint are the most current and how do I know if/when changes are made?
The General Conditions on SharePoint are always the most current version. Refer to the General Conditions Change Log on SharePoint for a listing of all Articles that have changed in the previous six months.
How can I check the status of my pay application?
General Contractors using the ePayApp can log into the ePayApp portal to view the current status of their pay application. For projects not using the ePayApp, contact the UA Project Manager for the status of a specific pay application.
